How to play Golf Party

Play Golf Party

Golf Party is only in Brazilian Portuguese for now. English will come later, no date set.

The essentials to play your first match right now. When you want every rule in detail, head to the full rules.

1. Join a room

On the start screen, pick a nickname and a ball color. Then:

  • click Criar sala (create room) to open a new room, or
  • type a friend’s 4-letter code, or open the link they sent you.

In the lobby, the room owner (the one with the crown) presses Começar (start) when everyone is there. More in play with friends.

2. Controls

Golf Party is played on a computer, with a mouse.

To do thisDo this
Turn the cameraHold the right mouse button and move the mouse, or use the A and D keys
ZoomMouse wheel
SwingHold the left button and pull the mouse back. The farther you pull, the harder the swing. Release to swing
Cancel the swingDrag back to where you started, or press the right button while charging
Free a stuck ballR key (costs one extra stroke)
See the scoreboardHold the Tab key

3. Aim with the camera

The shot goes where the camera looks, and an aim line shows up on the ground. Turn the camera until the line points at the hole. While you charge a swing, moving the mouse sideways fine-tunes the direction. Hold Shift for an even finer aim.

4. Control the power

The power bar shows how far you pulled. Too much power sails past the hole, too little falls short. The first holes are a good place to practice.

5. Finish the hole

Everyone plays at once, and balls do not collide: they pass through each other. The hole ends when everyone sinks the ball, when the stroke limit is reached or when time runs out. Then the hole scoreboard shows up.

For your first match

  • On the first two holes, just practice your power. That is what they are for.
  • Falling in the water puts the ball back and costs a stroke, so go easy on the pier.
  • In the palm grove, choose between the safe path and the risky shortcut.
  • Fewest strokes in total wins. A tie shares the place.

If something is still unclear, the rules page has the answer. To go back to the start, see the Golf Party overview.
